Vertical vulcano

HD, 7:50min, 16:9, stereo, 2018/2019
A poetryfilm by Teresa Delgado and Jakob Kirchheim

Vertical volcano shows how the passing of time has affected the peoples on the plateau of Anahuac in Mexico, between Puebla and Cholula. The visualization of José María Heredia’s verses, a 19th century poet, places the volcano as a witness of the changes which have taken place up to the present. Street scenes from Cholula and Puebla are mixed with graphic high-contrast images, vertical camera perspectives, voice-over and stop-motion as a montage about presence and evanescance.
